Trust ranked in new national league tables

9 September 2025

Hampshire and Isle of Wight NHS Healthcare Foundation Trust has been ranked 33 out of 61 community and mental health trusts in the first countrywide NHS league tables.

The tables are part of a new government initiative to improve transparency and performance across the NHS. They will be updated every three months.

The metrics include key quality and performance goals alongside financial delivery and value for money, with HIOWH being placed 33rd in Segment 3.

The ranking places the Trust in the middle range compared with similar organisations.

NHS providers which are part of the established Recovery Support Programme, including Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care System (ICS), means they are automatically placed in Segment 5 under the National Oversight Framework – this currently applies to HIOWH. This is due to system-wide financial pressures affecting all local Trusts, rather than individual organisations’ performance.

We expect future updates to reflect the progress we are making to deliver our Trust Strategy 2025-30, the NHS 10 Year Health Plan, and positive work we are contributing to the overall system position and segmentation.
