CQC rates our Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) at Petersfield Community Hospital ‘Good’

We are pleased to share that the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has published its latest assessment of the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) at Petersfield Community Hospital and the service has been rated Good overall.

The comprehensive inspection, carried out in September 2025, reviewed all key areas of care. The UTC achieved a Good rating across every domain: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well‑Led. This reflects the hard work and dedication of our teams in providing high‑quality urgent care for our community.

Key highlights from the report include:

  • Patients consistently reported positive experiences and praised staff for their kindness, dignity and respect.
  • The service demonstrated strong clinical practice, with safe assessments, effective treatments and clear personalised care plans.
  • Staff were described as skilled, compassionate and committed, with visible and supportive leadership.
  • The UTC has responded to growing local demand, increasing staff levels and strengthening pathways with other health and care services.
  • A strong culture of learning, safety and continuous improvement was evident throughout the service.

The CQC also identified a small number of areas for improvement, particularly around aspects of equipment auditing and mandatory training. We are already taking action to address these and further strengthen the quality of care we provide.

Our commitment to our community

We are proud of this positive outcome and remain committed to delivering safe, effective and person‑centred urgent care for local people, every day of the year. Thank you to our staff for their dedication and to our patients for their ongoing feedback and support.
