Our email addresses have changed to @nhs.net
Since we became Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare last October, we have been making changes to better support our patients, carers and our partners. As part of this process, we have updated our email addresses to @nhs.net make communication simpler and more secure for everyone.
What This Means for You
- Teams previously using @solent.nhs.uk or @southernhealth.nhs.uk have now switched to @nhs.net addresses.
- You can still reach our teams using our previous @solent.nhs.uk or @southernhealth.nhs.uk email addresses for a transitional period - your messages won’t get lost.
- If a team already had an @nhs.net address, nothing has changed.
Do you need to do anything?
Yes, our staff will start to share their new email addresses with you. When they do, please update your contact information. We will also begin to update this website with the new addresses over the course of the coming months.
(Note: please do not simply switch out the @solent.nhs.uk or @southernhealth.nhs.uk part of the email address for @nhs.net. This will not work as, in most cases, the entire email has changed - instead, please wait for confirmation of the new address).
Will old email addresses still work?
Yes! For at least six months after the change, any emails sent to our old addresses will automatically be forwarded to the new ones. This gives patients, carers, and healthcare partners (like GPs) plenty of time to update their records without worrying about losing contact.
Why the change?
This update helps us provide a safer and more reliable service for everyone. By combining our email system, we’re improving security, making communication smoother, and ensuring we continue to meet the highest NHS data protection standards. It also helps us use our resources more efficiently, so we can focus on what matters most - caring for our patients.
