Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (HIOWH) held its first Annual Members Meeting on Thursday 18 September 2025.
The Trust, which was formed in October 2024 following the merger of Solent NHS Trust, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, and services from Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Isle of Wight NHS Trust, delivers local health services to the whole of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
The meeting took place at YMCA Eastleigh, with over 100 people present, shared between the room and online, where the event was livestreamed.
Following this part of the evening, the formal Annual Members Meeting began. The Trust shared how it has performed since it was formed in October 2024, alongside information on it's new strategy and how this will support the new NHS 10-year plan.
The Trust also shared a brief 'Review of the year' video which you watch below.
There were also three presentations from different services which
highlighted how the Trust is working to support its aims. Colleagues from the DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy) team shared how their work is supporting patients. They were joined by a service user who shared his story and the impact the team had on his recovery. The Musculoskeletal (MSK) team gave a presetation on their Community Better Health Days which have helped thousands of people who had previously been waiting for support. Lastly we heard from colleagues about our work with the Totton Timebank, a community initiative that addresses loneliness and isolation.
The evening ended with a Question and Answer session where attendees, both in the room and online could pose questions to the board.
Neil Hayward, Chair of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This is a chance for us to share what we’ve achieved so far and to listen to what matters to our communities as we move forward together.”
Ron Shields, Chief Executive of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This has been a year of real progress for the new Trust. We are building on the success of all of the previous NHS organisations and working in partnership to deliver the ambitions of the NHS 10 Year Plan. The Annual Members Meeting is an opportunity for us to share what we are doing and, most importantly, to hear directly from the public about what they want our services to do.”
